“Chasing Papi”

“Chasing Papi” is supposed to be like “Charlie’s Angels” with sexy Latina women playing the bimbos. Hopefully it’s not as unbearably horrible as “Charlie’s Angels,” a film directed by a guy who can’t even direct a music video. Good grief.

“Gerry”

“Holes”
Walt Disney Pictures
Rated PG

The live-action Disney film “Holes” is about kids trapped in a shady juvenile detention facility and digging holes as part of a conspiracy. Sigourney Weaver plays the warden and Jon Voight and Tim Blake Nelson play her assistants, who I assume are buffoonish. Formulaic, yes, but these actors could certainly have fun.

“Malibu’s Most Wanted”
Warner Bros.
Rated PG-13
(Not reviewed)

Jamie Kennedy, the host of “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” oddly enough, stars in a movie about… well, I’m not sure. Kennedy plays a hip guy who pretends he’s from the ’hood, much to the dismay of his wealthy father, who is running for governor of California. So then his father hires some actors to pretend to be from the ’hood, kidnap Kennedy’s character and take him to a bad neighborhood. I assume part of it takes place in Malibu. We’ll see if anyone gets his or her comeuppance.
