“Cabin Fever”
Lions Gate Films
Rated R

Did you ever wonder what happens when you send a bunch of college students into the woods in a horror film? They die! This time the culprit is a flesh-eating virus. According to reports, there’s also some dramatic conflict.

“The Cuckoo”
Sony Pictures Classics
In Finnish, Russian and Saami with English subtitles.
Rated PG-13
Opens at the Tower
(Not Reviewed)

Russian writer/director Aleksandr Rogozhkin tells a story about a Russian soldier, a Lapp woman and a Finnish soldier chained to a rock who are thrown together during the final days of Finland’s involvement in World War II. And none of them can speak the same language. Expect comedy, drama and irony from this ironic, comedic and dramatic situation.

“Matchstick Men”
Warner Bros.
Rated PG-13
(Not reviewed)

Ridley Scott, who’s a hell of a director if he’s working with a good script (he can’t always pick them) directs Nicolas Cage plays a con man whose daughter shows up and asks for some quality time. Word-of-mouth has been pretty positive.

“The Magdalene Sisters”
(out of four)
(See review)

“Once Upon a Time in Mexico”
(out of four)—Eryn Green
(See review)
